Update mine is dead 14" in a bucket of alcohol. His tankmates are numerous other fish, snakes, and whatever else I find dead that I want to skeletonize later. Had such a great personality and was only ever aggressive towards the flathead. Other than that he was beat up several times by the granulated catfish that was half his size. Hand feeding is possible. Grows steady but I wouldn't call it fast by other catfish standards. My sperata def. outgrows him 2 to 1 or more. That's about all I can contribute really. Sorry.
It's not really the fact that the water was too hot, but the temperature spike over a few hours along with inadequate air going in. Basically caused the fish to drown. Not enough DO in the water to sustain this and my vulture catfish. All other fish survived. These two by far had the largest consumption of DO in the tank. After they perished there must have been plenty for the remain 3 smaller catfish in that tank.
lol well if mine were still alive i would be giving regular updates. I may be getting a smaller one soon, but really want to get a larger pond going first. Would love to start a small one out in the 400 gal pond and then move it to the 1200 gal I have planned then later down the road a ..............(who knows but massive for sure)
