Went collecting today

Went looking for Pirate Perch today. Caught some along with least killifish, Gambusia, and a very small Lepomis. Caught many crawfish, some newts, a snake, some huge water bugs, etc. here are some pics.

Pirate perch are everywhere here, I must have caught 20 yesterday. Hopefully they will make it in my tank.

how big do the perch get

about 5 inches, although I have never seen one that big.

Some kind of fishing spider i think, Dolomedes sp. maybe. I got one with almost every dip of the net.
