Found a bunch of terrestrial snails, and also caught these carp-like fish. I believe they are Silver Redhorse. My friend also hooked a nice catfish, but didn't land it.

Didn't keep the snails, I don't have a terrarium. That fish was snagged. I snagged two that way, right through the dorsal for some reason. The other for were mouth hooked.

The first two look like carp, the last is some kind of sucker. Could be a golden redhorse like you said, I'm not very good at sucker ID. The snails are cool, I used to have a bunch and they bred often. Most of mine were yellow with a black stripe running down the back of the shell.

I am pretty positive all the fish we caught were the same species. All of them had the same mouth placement, red fins, and golden color. I have to admit that I have never caught these before, and I am not good at ID either. I'll post a stock photo of what I think it is, Silver Redhorse.

Or is it the common carp? These fish did have barbels, and I don't notice any on the stock redhorse photo.

OK, I have reviewed lots of photos, and my conclusion is that these are smaller common carp.

The last one is a carp as well? Wow, pictures really can fool ya. I knew the first couple were but without seeing the dorsal fin I thought it was a sucker, looks more elongate as well. But yeah, looking closer I guess it's a carp as well. Looks like you caught what you were looking for after all.

It's funny. Two weeks ago, we hooked carp so big we couldn't land them. We had broken lines and broken hooks. Left unsatisfied.

This week we hook carp so small we had no problem landing them, and thought they were Redhorse because they were so small. Left unsatisfied.

At least we caught something, but is there no happy medium? LOL
