..and they had a betta in a little bowl.

It was REALLY bloated, sat at the bottom of the boal (the bowl only had 1/2 water, and it was actually thick.) It was so thick I didn't even recognize it as a betta at first.

They must feed it like, entire shrimp every day from how big it is. What should I do?

I was thinking about telling them I'd buy it and stick it in one of my 10 gals.

Ask them to correct the situation. If they wouldn't budge, offer to take it for free and try to fast the fish for a few days. Are you sure it's bloat, not just constipation?

is it a male or female? females can get HUGE when full of eggs. i would tell them how to fix it and if not take it. its true though they will probably get more and more.

Double check it was a female???????????????????????

Never "rescue" a fish from a fish store. You might think you are rescuing it but you are only rewarding them for not caring for their stock. With that same purchase, you are also punishing the good fish stores for taking care of their fish (by not buying from them).

With every fish sale, the store will replace the sold fish with another one. If you buy from a neglectful store, they will put another fish in its place and neglect it too. You will have to buy that one too. And so on.

You may want to reread the first post, future shop is not a fish store

Fair enough...now show me where it says that it isn't a fish store.

Futureshop is an electronics store, basically Canadian Best Buy.
