both mine had been processed at the French River Hatchory before comming into the Lester River quit a few miles down shore(i know this cause they have the clear tags in them that the hatchory puts in them after processing, this years color is clear, i called the hatchory to verify)...my hen had no roe in her so she looks super skinny...both my friends fish were not spawned or processed so the were fatter...his hen was loose and dumped lots of eggs...he got the fresh hen out of the Stewart River and the buck out of the Lester...
we went all the way to the Baptisum River and fish all the rivers back down...the only rivers with fish in them were the Stewart, French, and the Lester...
If anyone goes to the north shore of MN to do some steelheading DON'T DON'T go through the tubes under the road at the Split Rock River...the river is tirbid and you can't see bottom in 1.5"...the end of the tubes where the cement stops from the tubes is under cut and 9' streight down...i found out the hard way...i was walking out through the tubes went to go along the edge to the shore and walked off the end...at shore it is a vertical drop from 1.5' to 9' and it is under cut with an under current...i went over my head and didn't touch i am 6'5... after i got out i used my rod to find the end and then the bottom...i have a 9' rod and it was tip on bottom, end flush to the surface...
