I think they are pond or river spawning them in semi captivity in SA. Don't know that for sure but think it.

I've talked to an importer that told me the ones he gets comes from a supplier in asia. Talked to some asian fishkeepers that told me that they spawn them in asia by hormone injecting, and then they milk them and mix the milt and eggs to produce fry. They don't know which are males and which are females, they use a technique called stripping. Bassically once they are full of milt and eggs they cut them open and harvest the sperm and eggs. There is a special solution that they mix the sperm and eggs in for fertilization, and then they are put in hatching tanks before moving on to rearing ponds, before being shipped out. They do this because they actually stock several lakes in asia with SA fish including rtc and the rtc x tsn hybrids. Also TSN. That's right they purposely stock SA fish in Asia.

well, here in Brasil there are some breeding farms for sport fishing.

there are a lot species, inclding the RTCs.
I'm looking for a rtc x tsn.
I just don't know HOW they do it, probably waht Necro said, and if they import.
