so for you guys that have tanks 6ft and bigger, how many powerheads do you have, and were do you put them in the tank, and what size are they ?

im looking at getting some different powerheads all though it seems they are VERY costly to get into high power high flow to push water the length of 6ft or greater...

I have 4 cheap power heads from walmart because they are the only ones I can find that have long cords to make it to the bottom of my tank(4ft tall) and they blow everything to the other side of the tank (8ft long) into the intake if the filter but I have no substrate.

hmmmm, ya most powerheads would blow everything around with no substrate i would think, basically i just need enough to move some current to stop stuff from sitting around in the dead spots i have.... and i wanna get the silly odd looking powerheads i have now maxijet 1200's in "powerhead mode" which only pump out 295gph lol... boo to that hehe

my walmart dont carry much for fish stuff at all

koralia stuff is inexpensive. buy two 1400 evo for 50 dollars a peice on ebay. one 1400 is more than enough for my 180 though.

Cheapest I have found them is from a fish store a hour away and there about 50$ a piece, or can get em shipped from there for 10$ to my door... I'm thinking of buying 2 1400's tho :)
