well, ive been thinking about a western hognose and need some tips on car, because there is a lot of variation in the care sheets, here is what i have seen on most: 20g long cage, water dish, aspen shavings, 90-80 degrees, (90 being hot spot) not much humidity, two hides, that sound all right?

I'd stay away from aspen, but I've told you that already. It has a nasty habit of molding, not to mention it can be irritating and dehydrating to the snake.

I use sani chips for my substrate ,cheap, easy to spot clean and clean. what size snake?? cage depends on the size a lot.

from my experience if the cage is too big for a hog , it may be tooo nervous to eat.
ok, i dont have a specific snake in mind, so the cage would be bought to suit its needs, could i put a divider in to make it smaller for him

yes a divider will work then when your hognose hits I say about 15-18 incnhes then I would remove the divider...

Google Greg Bennett, one of the top hog breeders, his site has a care sheet.i keep mine in a rack so I can't comment on tank keeping.
