Hi,
I understand that you can do this. My sump was supplied with 2 dividers. I thought I could use something I picked up from a marine tank. A high cylinder with bio media in but I think maybe the flow rate would be too much and end up filling it defeating the purpose. I suppose I will just have to give it a go.
Basically though I suppose I need mechanical filtration to clear the big stuff in the first compartment then biomedia in the next.

I don't understand what you are asking but you could use filter socks for your mechanical filtration and fill the next chamber with bio....

Hi,
it is alright - I tried to break apart the cylinder to clean it out and it wasn't possible so it will be a standard sump.
I plan filter foam of increasing grade in first partition then over to the next (filter wool), under to the next with ??? in then over to last and biggest partition with various bio media and pumped to tank.
I don't know what to do with all these partitions!
