I have 50 rena filstars floating in a betta net hanging on the back of my tank. I have a spray bar blowing the biomedia all over the basket! Is this scientifically a functional wetdry, the stars are getting lots of air and water? Anybody know if this setup can work.

I wouldnt call it it a wet/dry but it will help:)

Well the water quality really improved now! Not sure if this wetdry i made is the resaon.
Seems like the 45 rena stars are moving around in the betta net recieving water from 2 spray bars constantly! Is this realloy working like a wetdry to really filter out the water or am i missing something! Thanks in advance to anybody that knows whats up!

180 with 9 payara from 6 to 8 inches! They are still all hanging under java ferns and vines and stay away from the powerhead side. waiting for the biggest one to head on over soon!

if some of the media is exposed to air it would be like a small wet/dry.
Is all of your biomedia submerged? Either way it will house benificial bacteria.

Actually since the rena stars are black and float, all of them are floating on the surface getting sprayed by clean water from the spray bars. they are moving under water than ontop getting bounced around by the current inside the net! To me it seems like a really good idea. On my other tanks i have ac500s with flaoting rena stars, this huge tank i have though with my little wetdry invention is flushed against the wall limiting my options for more filters other than lots of canisters. Any help on the scientific outlook on this whole thing will it work.

'bout the same thing as a bio-wheel except a bio-wheel haas more air-time.

would not 50 renastars in a betta basket getting sprayed water constantly have 100 hundred times more bacteria then a biowheel. Or should i just buy a biowheel that works with a spraybar and put the stars in a canister or something?
