i currently have a wet/dry on my 110 .. lets say i want over filtration, cuz who doesnt?.. could i run a xp3 canister in my sump? instead of having it in the tank? or would it not be as effective?

is it a gravity fed canister? would the cansiter have to be below the sump? -- you could run the xp as the return pump... of cause it would be cleaner...

its like saying would my tank be cleaner if I have 10 filters or 11 filters.... the more filters... ... the better...

Awesome idea.

I could probably do this with my fluval 305 but it only pumps 1000 l/hr is that enough?

don't the xp3 have that weird way of priming with the screw cap... I think if your gonna buy the canister I would buy a large cascade one... I use one on my sump in the same way and it works pretty good

I have a eheim running off of my sump....., and it works great......
I main reason that I have it is case of an emergency and i need to set up another tank quickly...... then I already have a working biological filter on hand....

I forgot to mention on mine it is strictly for chemi pure I keep the bio bag from a ac110 and have a fbf I can move if I need another tank

Your canister filters' pump life will be shortened with continual usage on the sump--it really needs the pressure head difference to drain water. Drain the water from the tank instead as it's designed for.
