For my b-day i'm getting a wet/dry setup for the 125. I want to put something under the cabnet, would I be better off with a DIY or purchasing a full set-up on-line?? I've been thinking of making my own and taking the money I saved and purchasing a small UV filter. I think with the AC, XP3, Wet/Dry, and UV I'd have crazy filtration for that tank.

As the Ven pike grows large enough for the big tank, i'm going to mix things up a bit, I want to take the runt JD, and 'Belly Crawler' pike from the 125g and put them in the 46. I then want to put the ven (who will get much larger than the 'Belly Crawler') and put him in the 125...Leaving my stock list like this for each tank:

125:

Ven pike
JD
2 Green Sevs

XP3
AC110
UV
Wet/Dry (maybe 30g)

46:

Runt JD
2 Cons
Belly Crawler Pike

AC110
Fluval 202

Do you think that all looks ok?? Is the UV worth it (the big tank gets a good bit of direct sunlight, so I do have issues with free floating algae)?? Any other ideas or suggestions?? HELP!? lol

Thanks in advance!

I made my sump, saved some money and bought a UV filter and no longer have green water. I do not think that a factory one would perform that much better, but I mainly wanted to have heaters and stuff out of site, I am very happy with my DIY.
$ 8 tub
$15 drawers
$20 Bio bail
$65 pump
$20 home made overflow
$30 hoses and stuff

My biggest worry is that I'll do something wrong and end up with a ton of water all over my hardwood floor. Thats the only reason I'm even considering buying a prefab model, i'm mostly scared of messing up the overflow.
