Wet/Dry Filter Maintenance Question

I was wondering if these filters need cleaning. Mine has been filtering over a year. It's accumulated uneaten fish food and some of the scrubbies show dirt, otherwise it's clean. I was planning on replacing the filter pad over the scrubbies and would prefer to leave it alone.

I do not wash the bio media until it looks clogged with dirt. But the mechanical filter gets cleaned monthly to bi monthly or when it clogs.

Same here I change my media every month. I have a heavily loaded setup.
