Has anyone used Pro Clear Aquatics Wet/Dry Filters before. I was thinking of going that route instead of a canister filter.

have seen them sumps never heard anything bad about them.... you should be fine with it and have no problems.... you can use the search feature in this forum and the diy forum there is more than enough info to answer all of your questions...

I use them all the time and love them.

The new models have a filter tray that you can pull out while it's running.

I can help you get a good deal on them...... PM me

does this good deal work for all of us :)

We have a Pro Clear Aquatics 400 which provides excellent biological filtration for our 300 gallon tank. Using an overflow box, we have minimal mechanical filtration with the Pro Clear. We have an entirely separate filtration system for mechanical filtration, and with uptakes 1/4" from the bare floor, debris/feces is quickly removed from the tank.

If you want to use a wet dry system exclusively, you should consider making your own. You could add a large mechanical component to your wet/dry system. I've heard of people adding a powerhead to stir up debris in the water to hopefully get the debris up to the overflow box.

If you have a large tank, a wet/dry system will provide you with great biological filtration. I would recommend additional mechanical filtration (which a canister filter would provide).
