Can the gallons per hour be lower in a wet/dry scenario than in a sump alone situation?
(freshwater)

100 gallon tank- 20 gallon sump-400 gph
100 gallon tank- 20 gallon wet/dry-200 gph

is this correct?

you can take either situation - 100 gallon tank- 20 gallon sump or 100 gallon tank- 20 gallon wet/dry at 1GPH to 5000GPH+... what are you asking?

Your gph can be higher... or lower... or the same. It's entirely up to you. 200 gph at whatever your head height is should probably be a minimum in either filter for a 100g tank but you could go as high as you like.
