is the ehiem wet dry any good???

is there any such thing as a quiet wet dry filter???

I have had an eheim professional wet/dry for over 10 years on my 75 gallon. It is a great filter and there is virtually no maintenance at all. You get what you pay for.

To silence a wet/dry, do a couple of things:

1) Use a Durso standpipe to take overflow water from the tank to the sump.
2) Divide the sump to create a column of standing water before it flows onto the drip plate. The overflow pipe from the Durso should extend about an inch below the top of the water. This will silence the sump.

thanks guys, ive been out of the hobby for quite a while and i used to use a home made wetdry and it was NOISY........... ive been eyeballing the ehiem wet drys for a while...
