Hi guys!(& gals)
I'm anxiously awaiting the final stages of my 240 gal's cycling. I currently have 2 canister filters on it. I can bring my 2 bio wheels off my 55 gal and install them when I move the livestock from that tank to their new home.

The livestock consists of:
1 ray pup (teacup) disc size 4 to 5 inches
1 9" Arowana
1 6" African knife
2 4" Bala Sharks

I've been reading about different filtration methods you all employ. I have the ability to install a wet/dry that came with the 240.

What I want to know is, why employ a wet/dry at all? (advantages-disadvantages)

Thank you in advance for you guidance

Pat

the added bio and oxygenation of the wet dry is a big plus.

I don't see any disadvantages if the wet dry is running correctly.

I run mostly all wet dry filters on my larger tanks.

wet dry = lots of oxygen, lots of good bacteria, lots of turn over, clean nice way to hide heaters n other acc, has the ability for to turn over large amounts of water.

doesnt get cloged or anything like a canister, but still requires maintenance.

downside is, you need a weir, or an overflow of some kind.

point is, they are good, and if it is not much effort for you to add it to your ray tank.. !!!! do it :)
