I have a 125g with 2 fluval 405s(680gph combined) and would like to beef up my filtration for when my stock matures. The fx5 will not fit in my stand and is therefore not an option. I can fit a 10-20 gallon wet/dry in the stand which would be used in conjunction with the 2 existing cannisters. I am in the dark on wet/dry systems and was curious as to whether a small set-up would be worth the effort or if I should just buy an ac110. My thoughts are that a 10 gallon wet/dry crammed with bio-media, and 2 fluval 405s with 1 tray bio and 3 split for mechanical and chemical would be a solid system. Any how, the purpose of this thread is to determine whether I should. Start researching wet/dry systems or just go with the ac110.

I'm not familiar with AC 110's, but you could use SeaChem Pond Matrix as a bio media in a small sump. You need only 1 liter of Pond Matrix per 100g of water.

Thanks, if I can get by with that little of media a small sump will be a solid investment.
