wet/dry pump

I want to make a custom wet/dry for a 180 gal freshwater tank. What size pump do I need. (links would be nice) and how can I be sure that the overflow can keep up with the pump? I am new to the wet/dry lol!

lol thanks dr. joe that helps allot. I think I'm ready to start building. (doing the tank, overflow and sump myself) I'll keep you posted as I build! I think I'll use a 1000 gph pump or more, (e-bay is my friend) is this ok?

That should give you a solid 4x turnover, so it should be good as long as you don't put 30 Pacu in it .
