ok, i recently got a few tank, a 30, 20L and a little 5. i really want to add a wet/dry to my 220 along with my canister. now my question is, if i use the 20L, how much will it filter? how do i figure that out?

The 20L would be too small for that size of tank. The 30 might work better, depending on the dims., but a 55 would be ideal.

Depending on how your overflow and return would be setup, there's a chance that when the pump turns off that it would overflow the sump.

My 55 fills up about half way when I shut the pumps off on my 220.

I have gone with a 1/3 min on sump size as a general rule. I have seen much less then this on others but the bigger the safer and better.

I love my giant tub! But I still have a sump if you want. lol

You could put adjustable stand pipes in the overflow to control how much it overflows. One pipe slides inside the other to adjust the height. There should be no problem then with overflowing.
