building a wet/dry for my 75 gal tank, its gonna be used for my crimson tide breeding group of 12. how big do i need the bio portion to be?

Probably need a 20-25 gallon sump. Shoot for about half of it filled with bio media

is there any particular style you two recommend?

theres alot of them on the site, but not alot of them that facilitate 10-15 gal of bio....

Either get another tank to put underneath, or go buy a rubbermaid tote to place under the stand. They all work just about the same way. I recommend using the cheapest stuff available. If you have a spare tank, use that. If you have a tote, use that. DIY is all about using what you have at hand to make something truly remarkable....and cheap!

i have a rubbermade tub already, and was going to use the 5 gal bucket trickle style for the bio media, but thats half of what you recommended... so im not so sure any more how im going to do it

That should be fine. We we recommended was a general statement. I will be using a 100G sump to run all 1K of my fishroom.

alrighty. thanks guys, as always you are ever helpfull! maybe one of these days youll ask something i know about and we can call it even! :P:headbang2
