I am pretty sure I want to add a wet dry with an overflow box to my 125g. I would love to make my own, but do not have the time with that. Does anyone have any experience with proFlex sump filtration systems or any of hte eshopps wet dry sumps they have out there?

Eshopps makes really good sumps. Only flaw it's they are made with fairly thin materials. So the result is the "max fill" line it's a little low for my liking. Other then that no issues. Never owned proFlex

Mine is basically the same design as what I saw on the eshopps website (but I bought it used so not sure who made it). It works well, but getting to the filter pad (usually placed in the drip tray where the water enters the filter) can be a bit of a pain. I wish mine worked with filter socks instead like most of the DIY wet/drys.

I also took a look at the Aqueon ProFlex wet/dry (I assume that is what you meant) and it looked easier to get at the filter socks to clean them. Can't comment on size, durability, or quality but this type seems easier to use and more similar to most of the DIY ones I have seen.

I have a ProFlex Model III. Overall I am pleased with the sump. It's a well built sump with the flexibility to turn it into a wet/dry with the purchase of the additional bio-media kit, which is what I did, Or you could turn it into a Berlin style sump or have a refugium in it. The only drawback of this sump is that they used pretty thin acrylic, so it seems a little flimsy... but it still seems well built non the less.
