I have a 29 high tank that I'm converting in to a wet/dry filter. I started last night by taking the support frame off the top of the tank, kinda like this guy did.

Now i was laying in bed last night thinking about what i did. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to reinforce the top of the tank a bit, without making it too bulky? Or is it fine because there wont be a ton of water in it for 95% of the time? I probably should have thought it through better but it was 2 a.m. and i just started cutting things.:screwy: Thanks.

I built mine based on your linked thread. I took the top frame off of mine as well and it's been fine so far *shrug*

You will get support for the sides from all the baffles that you will be putting in there.

The only thing I'd change about the one in the link is to lower the filter socks into the tank a bit. If you don't change the filter and it overflows, you want the water to fall into the sump, not the floor.

Yeah i caught that later in the thread. I thought the same thing with the baffles. It should be fine. Thanks.

Exactly, lol. He works drunk (not bad though).

Yeah the thing is amazing. I hope mine can come out half as good as his did.
