So I have my wet dry filter up and running, but it seems to give me more stress than I would like. I initially had some incessant small leaks coming from the back where the water comes from the tank into filter. Now there is the ever present fear of the power going out and for some freak reason (even though I've taken the precautions) my living room ends up under water. Is an FX5 or Eheim just as effective?

Guess my questions is whether or not the right mix of canister filter/s as good as the wet/dry? Is the wet dry really that much more effective as some claim?

i would keep it i have a small one about 2gs on my 10gallon tank it works great and its not too much of a hassel i have to spend time on the tank anyways mit as well make sure you have a good filter :)

I switched over to Canisters/HOB units many years ago and I've never regretted it. One type of filtration system is NOT really any better than the others. Any of them will work great if you set them up properly.
