wet pet for a 55

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
An African tank would do better long term but if you don't mind upgrading or rehome the midevil or fh go for it. Both could stay in a 55 till 8" give or take an inch or two.

I think they may get to big because of the room they need to have to turn around well that's what i was told by a few people but you could also try a green terror instead.

Your right but a 55 can house a single midevil or fh for a long time. I say a a year maybe two before they would need to be moved to a bigger tank.

so would a mid-devil be fine for a 55 as a wet pet or a flower horn?

Too big. The male I had barely fit into my 75.

Personally, i'd go with an male oranda. but if your not into goldfish, i'd go with a single male bluegill, or single warmouth, or rockbass.

If natives aren't to your liking, I'd go with a couple of blood parrots.

If hybrids aren't to your liking, i'd go with a green terror or jack dempsy, or if africans are to your taste, a malawi eye eater.

A year or two is a short time in the fish world and would come up quick, in my experience anyway. :)

True that's why I said if he doesn't mind the upgrade or having find a better home for the fish.

Most people, including myself fall into that trap :) Its better to be prepared from the start. At least for me.
