I have a 90 gal. with one male trimac as a wet pet , i was woundering if a black nasty would do good in a 90 as a solo wet pet how do you sex them young? i was also think of v.argentea in a 75 also how do you sex them young? these tanks will be linded up one wall so the fish will display to one another.

a black nasty would do good in a 90 alone, as for the v.argentea a 75 gallon is fine for that fish to, sexing these fish is pretty dificult males are always larger than females ,and the genitalia for females is slightly larger and rounder in females
My favorite wet pet was a huge Uaru... Mine ate lettuce from my fingers and even wanted me to pet him. Cool fish!
Their availability is based on the price you are willing to pay. Rapps has both frequently, fishfarm has either from time to time, and Aquabid has them listed sometimes. Gonna generally have to get them shipped to you unless you live in an area with some nice fish stores. Haitiensis females tend to be darker and almost always will have a black spot at mid-dorsal. Argenteas are harder, but males tend to be bigger than females.
