Just a quick question, does anyone know where the wet spot got their latest batch of barred midas? I picked up 4 they are very nice. Hoping someone out there has a little info.

I've asked them about the origin of my robertsoni and pasionis when I bought them. They didn't know, and just said they are TR.
Unfortunately I can't help with your Midas. They look nice though.

I know the supplier of the wet spot, the cichlid exchange, buys from hobbyists on a regular basis. Just hoping someone on here might have sold them some or knew of someone who did. Either way, I like them a lot and am not disappointed.

I didn't know that's their supplier. Hope you get more info on them. You never know, someone might know more about them.
I've been very curious about the catch location of my robertsoni. I have never seen red on the anal fin, so very curious if that is a specific location. Just hoping they aren't the cf Rio Jutiapa or even worse a hybrid between the two. The cf Rio Jutiapa is probably going to be deemed as a different species, but as common names goes, tank breeding fish, you don't know what you are getting. Cf Rio Japiata isn't as blue, has more red, nice fish but not what I want. Catch location is important with CA cichlids, since there is so much variation. I can understand why you want to know.

I have seen quite a few grown out robertsoni from them and owned a few myself. They do develope more red than other varieties. I believe Steve, the owner of the wet spot and cichlid exchange, bred this fish in the past.
