wetdry set up

hey guys this is not a very monster question but i hope u can help. i have a 33gal freshwater community tank and i want to achieve chrystal clear water, i have seen and read that wet dry filters are the best way to acheive max filtration. would it be worth my while making a 10 or 20 gal wetdry for my tank. i think i no the general set up of this type of filter but i thought i wud ask the monsters advice before researching in details. thanks

I'd say no.. get a good canister filter with a micron polishing pad.

but i am aware that these canaster can be expensive, also i lik the thought of making it myself.haha

I built a wet dry for my 120g and depending on the route you go they can be expensive as well. You can get a decent canister for the purposes of polishing your water for $80 or so, cheaper then you could build a wet dry / plumb it for.
