Just got home from vacation (only 2 days) I just noticed this film on my datnoid. Water is perfect 50% water change every other day. He’s in a 400 with 4 rays and 2 Florida gar. He’s not acting any different than normal and just ate a hand full of pellets.

There is driftwood in the tank but I see no visible scratches or damage

A Ray might have pinned em down for a taste while u were gone…not that unlikely. As ur rays get bigger any tank mate is subject to their brains gettin eaten, they all have a taste for it lol ?‍ ?

Okay I’ll be doing a 50% water change now and will monitor over the next 24 hours. Any meds I should have on hand just in case?

I’d have an antibiotic like maracyn 2 or kanaplex ready just in case.

I appreciate it. Will it be safe to use with the rays?

I am not sure - I doubt it is but you might be safest to treat in a separate tank in this case (and to be the most effective).

Probably was just sand stuck to the Datnoid.
