ever since my new 150g tank landed on my porch i have been
working on it non-stop.

i took me 1 week to convert this dirty ugly looking tank to a nice
setup.

at this moment its cycling with 3 bluegills.

first i wana thank my girlfriend for helping me out and supporting me on what i love, fish keeping. i love her til death. <3

here is the process:

when it first came to my casa

here is when i started painting it. i went for the black bluish color. i know it looks really wack right now but bare with me. i haven't applied the clear coat yet.

for those people wondering about the corner not being supported, i enforced it with 2 2x4 so it be solid and study for the tremendous weight.

heres a pix of the paint i used for this setup.

heres the final result of my hardwork.
it looks kinda crappy but im going to give it a clear varnish with a brush while it cycles.

Cool DIY

Looking forward to the updates!

so when i paint the back of my tank black.
would i be using regular old black spray paint?

You really should have painted the stand with a brush and a bucket of paint. It will look TONS better. Just sand down what you have there now with 400/600 grit, and paint a couple coats on with a brush. You'll be smitten afterwards. Tank looks good, though either get real plants or more of those fake plants to make it look more natural.

Looks good!

thats what i used and it looks great

Nice project.I always roll my paint on to my tanks, it comes off easier if you want to change the color, and why did you wait till you set up the tank to put on the clear coat? anyway nice set up and good luck in the future.
