My blue acaras had eggs for the first time, i bought them 3 months ago at 2"! what do i do now tho!?! These are just to random fish i bougt when i first bought a fish tank! i though nothing of it didn't even know they would be male and female just bought them because they looked nice! now that i know more what luck hey! two random fish end up being breeding pairs of the same species! they have a tank mate a small jaguar cichlid! the males about 6" the female is 4" and the jaguar is about 4.5" in a 29 gallon :s i wasn't really execting this! but what a nice xmas present! But i do need help, i have a small breeding cage and my spare tank all ready has residents of 2 small severums of about 1.5" and 5 1" red terror fry!

Congrats!! Now u wait for them to hatch and once they do wait till they consume their yolk sack. then u need to start feeding them baby brine shrimp or take the easy route and feed them crushed flakes. The parents will probably be able to defend the majority of the fry from the jaguar but eventually the Jaguar will become big enough to eat both the babies and kill the parents. I can't think of any other combo u could do to keep them safe long term other then getting another tank. The only combo that would work long term is Severums and the Acaras, but u need to put some size on those Sevs before u put them with a breeding pair of acaras.
