Miami
So ordered some fish from dispatch273 (i think those r the numbers) so they ship out yesterday with expected arrival thursday. So at 9pm i get a pm, not a call not a text but a pm (way to go Sandy!) its dispatch and she tells me she received a call that my fish arrived in miami but the box is leaking. So 9:30 i leap out of ...sofa.... Scare the dog scare my husband and after switching fuzzy slippers for flip flops and forgetting to put on a few garments i head out the door. Preparing for 20 mile drive at 10 pm to a place ive never been to, to a part of town im not familiar with. So thanks to my gps i get to a secluded unlit unmarked unknown street with usps sorting facility. The lady one the phone earlier told me to go around back to employee parking... There are 3 employee parkings. Mind you this is behind the airport so there is tight security and barbed wire fences and security everywhere. So i finally reach a tall gate with friendly welcoming signs such as by entering here you may be searched and blah blah blah. So i drive in the deserted parking lot thinking army vehicles are going to drive out from behind bushes and yank me out of my car and arrest me for crossing into some prohibited area. I have no idea where i am but apparently i was in the right place. So i get out see security tons of signs about personell this and employee only this and something about badges and im here in a pac man shirt and flip flops. So i walk in a deserted area and there are doors but you need a badge to open them. Thankfully someone is coming out this high security compound and i ask how do i get in? She says someone can buzz you in. I said "is there someone i can call" she says no, she drags me over three feet and i can now see people inside behind a window from this angle, she says " you just stand here and wave your arms till they see you" *face palm* some security im here thinking im gonna be finger printed to get in here and scan my eyeballs or something and all i had to do was wave at people. But i digress... After some waiting i here a horrible rattling coming closer and closer and this man is wheeling this vibrating shaking wagon with my fish on it to me. Im like pooor fish. The box is soaked and i carry my soaky leaky box all the way back to my car. I open it and to my amazement a three fish are alive in 2" of water. If it wasnt for dispatch's great bagging they wouldnt have made it so i release all three fish into a waiting container with and air bubbler. The worst is over time go home..... Or so i thought.
On my way home i keep hearing splashing. I take a peak and the male kamfa flowerhorn even after his ordeal is defending his lady and wiping the floor with the red texas. This is not a problem i need going 60 on an unlit street in who knows where. So i had to stop get a fish bag and put the texas in the bag with air bubbler in the middle if the road. Nice huh? But im finally home fish are in their tanks. Texas needs some tlc but he should pull through. And thats my story of what i would do for fish.

Some pics of deserted parking lot rescue, ride home buckled in and texas save.

Its good to see you at least you remembered to buckle up the bucket :)

Oh man! When I got that phone call from the post office I thought the fish were goners for sure! I'm glad they are ok and I'm sure that little rt will bounce right back...hes a spunky little guy

I do have to give props to the post office in this case though. They went out of their way to track down my home phone number(which is unlisted btw :what:) abd call me at 930 pm instead of ignoring the leaking box of fish for someone else to deal with in the morning.

I can't wait to see in tank shots of them all!
