I just had the worst day off EVER! I ordered a big pair of Red Tapjaos pikes. Southwest Airlines lost my package that was supposed to be here by 1145am. I just picked it up at 815pm. The bags were leaking and one of the pikes has really bad fin burn. Dorsal, Anal and Tail fin are in terrible shape. At least the vendor is being responsive and offered to refund me if the smaller one doesn't make it, but its definitely not the way I wanted to spend my only day off.

When I got my Heroina from Dan Ye-Jennings, one of them had severe fin burn from ammonia. That night the fins fell off and he just had a bunch of stumps. He had trouble staying upright and couldn't swim, just scooted around. I put him in a net breeder and just kept the water really clean and warm. It's been about 3 weeks and his fins have completely grown back. You wouldn't even know he had a problem.
I'd say if the fish was healthy otherwise, it shouldn't be too big of a deal. Maybe isolate him if you can just so that it doesn't get picked on and can recover stress-free.

I'm considering isolating them in the morning. The bigger one seemed fine, just really thin. I might use an empty fry tub w/ some sponge filters for now.
They are hanging in there big one is eating. The smaller one is in bad shape, but ALIVE! Unfortunately they are not Tapajos, but Atabapo 1s. I love atabapo 1s and these will replace the big pair I lost a few months ago. Pikes are strong fish. I think they will pull thru w/ TLC!
Yep, but the vendor offered to take them back. He isn't into pikes and his wholesaler mislabeled them. I have to wait to Monday to decide due to work and I might send them back.
