So I am in Michigan visiting family right now when I was woken up at 2 in the morning by a phone call. My apartment has been broken into. they kicked in the front door which was locked (using my courtyard as cover to do so undetected). It seems like they went through all of my drawers and could not find anything of value to them (I have all my electronics down there and my only valuables are living and venomous). They opened up a drawer with $180 cash in it but did not take it. They did steal an old phone that was in that same drawer which is odd because it is practically worthless.
Anways, it is not the fact that they took something worthless that bothers me it is that they left the door wide open and let the heat escape meaning that many of my animals are endanger of upper respiratory infections (the apartment was down to 30ºF). I hope the stupid SOB gets what's coming to him. I am flying back early but still staying through xmas here. I just needed to vent and relax some. I am so angry that I am shaking right now.
This person (or people- I don't know) did not gain anything it seems but they could have possibly gotten all of my animals sick and could end up costing me hundreds of dollars in vet bills. I am putting together a hit team, those interested apply within. Just kidding... but seriously.
