I want to get into the hobby of monster fish keeping and i was wondering what barnd of above ground pools should i use to start? Please help me out and thanks for any responses.

I'm guessing you mean pond? What fish do you want? Have you every kept fish? Where is it going? What filtration are you planning?

I have used both Intex, and Bestway, and the 300 gal rubbermaid troughs. The troughs never leaked, some pools only lasted a season before leaking.

But the pools were mostly to overwinter fish in my basement, from in-ground ponds that would freeze solid to the bottom in winter.

Large fish will jump out if the pool is too shallow, and a net cover may be needed for certain species.
And depending on where you live, the more shallow the pool, the more predators can get in and eat the fish.
In a pools less than 2 ft deep, raccoons were a problem when I lived in the city in Wisconsin. They would eat the heads off, and leave headless bodies on the patio.
After increased depth to 4 ft, with no gradient, the raccoon ceased to be a problem.
Where I live now, birds are a problem, and undeterred by any depth.

Well twentyleagues twentyleagues i did mean pond and i have salt water and freshwater tanks. in my freshwater tanks i have oscars, catfish, pacu and many different chiclids, etc. then in the salt water i have triggerfish tangs puffers cliwns you name it i probably had it. Ive seen some videos of people who have ponds and i want to get some fish who will grow into some monsters like arowanas, redtail catfisf, tiger shovelnose catfish, alligator gar, peacock bass, largemouth bass, maybe even some koi. And i have seen some youtubes who use above ground pools and honestly i just want to make sure that i am getting into this hobby right you know.

Where are you from? Here in the UK you can get fiberglass 1500 gal free standing ponds with viewing windows for £900

I was going to say I've had great luck with the 300g Rubber maids in my basement with my salt, sharks and angels. Not so sure about out side with possible predation though. Most above ground pools I've heard issues with. If it's going inside build it out if plywood.

Ok im guesing its to help keep it together. i was looking at tge colman power steel 22' x 52'. Its going to be big but thats what im looking for
