i'm in the process of a trade for some new africans, but i'm not sure what to get. my tank setup is a 55 gallon with sand, lots of rock caves at the bottom, but still plenty of open space. the guy i am dealing with said he mainly deal with "peaceful peacocks" as he said and not mbuna. any suggestions as to what i should keep with them? i am also getting some other africans from another source which will include acei, a lab, and a venustus. i'm curious for stocking ideas of what i should ask him to order for me that will not cause many issues with these tankmates. i want to stay away from piscivores, but i want some good color. also, i wouldn't mind getting some victorians. help me out cuz i like hearing ideas before i decide. thanks:headbang2

Venustus in a 55? Although it is minimum requirements, seems rather cramped for the guy. I've owned several Mbuna, and although Labs are quite popular and mildly aggressive, I have found the Acei to be some of the best fish.

They are mid to top swimming fish and very gentle.

i already am getting acei. i was looking for additional species ideas.

I have a breeding group of "cynotilapia afra cobue" species they are cool! The hai reef are nice as well as white top afras... These are dwarf mbunas so they will do good in a 55 gal as well as yellow labs they do better in groups and they have very cool personalities! The Venustus will outgrow your 55 within a year they get really big! in a 55 stick with mbunas!

he sent me an order list of what is available. was thinking maybe some rustys would be nice too
