I agree with krichardson, looks to be a Xystochromis phytophagous.
One of the Lake Victorian species that is primarily vegetarian (in nature mostly algae)
The one in the pic appears to be female because of the washed out colors, although if it stressed out from being newly dropped in the tank and colors return, that could change.

We have had that fish since it was less than inch. Got it from one of those tiny assorted cichlid tanks at the lfs several months ago for $4. It just started to color up and wondered what it is. I'll try to get a better pic soon.
