I purschased this fish at nearly the size it is today. I was under the assumption that it was a male Jack Dempsey with very washed out colors due to stress. Also now I am not even sure now of the sex, but for the sake of this thread I will refer to the fish as a male. I guess my question is.. can anybody tell me what they thing is? He eats a quality diet (NLS, Hikari Gold/Bio-Gold, Omega One, Krill, Frozen Blood Worms) and his tanks gets a 50% water change at least once a week.He is about 6-7 inches long and lives in a 55 with plenty of hiding places, his only tank mate is a 4 inch female JD. These two fish are inseparable. Anyways here are some pictures, I apologize for the filthy glass. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks everybody.

he looks like he can hold his own..I would switch out the gravel and add black gravel that will give him some color.

yah I can buy the lower quality JD.. however i've never in my life seen a JD that faded, they are darker at walmart. and yah i would love to swtich to black gravel that sand has been a horrible decision

washed out regular JD, i've seen many like it.
