I scored today and got a 100gallon tank, stand, aquaclear 500, glass top and lights today for $100 . :D It was NASTY. There had been no water changes since April, and the guy wasn't sure how long the filter had been so clogged it wasn't pumping water anymore.. but there were fish surviving in that muck. The biggest angel fish I personally have ever seen (about 6" nose to tail tip), two silver dollars (apparently one which was 12years old) a clown loach, a pleco, and this that I don't know.

It looks like a cichlid, and not likely african. It's about 6.5" from nose to tailtip. Can anyone tell me what this guy is so I can do some research?

Thanks

BTW, they are all in a CLEAN 85 gallon right now. That 100 gallon is going to need some scrubbing before I set it up.

Thanks Honda, you're awesome. Now I have a few more questions after doing a little bit of reading if you know much about them.
Monomorphic means one can't tell the genders apart, correct? Okay... how common are these guys if I want more, and do you think "mildly aggressive" suggests they should be in a tank with angels and discus?
I'm trying to decide what tank to put it in. He could go with the angels and discus,
He could go in with some fronts and a hybrid parrot that thinks its a front,
He could go in with a mild yellow oscar and yellow severum,
I have a 29 gallon with a loan jewel fish in it.. think that tank's too small for this guy?

I wouldn't trust it with a oscar or a jewel seeing it's a peaceful fish. They might bully him to death. Hell of a score for a 100 smackers.
