Im looking to stock my 240 with a community set up.

I wanted clownloaches, but they grow way to slow, and will be eaten eventually.

I wanted flag tails, but they are aggressive towards their own.

I heard of some Silver dollars getting excess of 8 inches, is this true?
NVM i was thinking about the Red tail tinfoil barb

basically what i want is

fast growing fish, that can grow large
and peaceful.

More color the better

aren't those two statements somewhat contradictory? if you have a "community tank" of "large and peaceful fish", why would your clown loaches ever be eaten?

I think clown loaches are a great choice if you have enough room, and a 240G tank certainly is big enough. get a shoal of six clown loaches and they should thrive

well clown loachs grow slow. in one year my aros will be over a foot long, and the clown loach would still be around the same size that i bought them at

If you get clown loaches that are 3-4" now, your silver aros will never eat them.

i still like CL, but its hard to buy them at that size here. but i do perfer bottom feeders. so i probally will keep and eye out for CL and Yoyos

get some big cyprininds , there are many species that are large and not overly aggressive

Bala sharks don't have much color, but the fit the rest of your definitions quite well.

a school of red hooks and black bars look cool and are peaceful.

Has anybody noticed his sig? 6 4-5" aros? Thre tigr oscars? I know that it might seem as if the tank is empty now, but very soon you will need much more space. I don't think I would recomend anything for your tank.
