what are good external pumps?

I'm going to need an external pump. What are some good ones, and ones I should stay away from.

I'll need one that can do around Max Head ft: 31

Also, what's with the Iwaki's Japaneses and American pump. what are the differences, and why should I go with ine over the other?

how many gallons per minute at 30 feet ??

iwaki same pump american or japanese motor
 
I did the Pump head loss calculator and it says for my setup it will do 1034GPH. That's for a 210gal tank.
 
I'm lost at what your asking. I'm kind of new to all the big tank equipment. could you simplify the question for me?

what size pump..........how many gallons per hour or gallons per minute do you want to pump ??
 
what is a good turn over rate for a non reef tank? I was looking at about 5-6 times for the turn over rate.

The pump I was looking at is the:

Sequence ReeFlo Barracuda Pump, 4500 GPH

  • Tank Size: 180-350gal
  • Flow Rate @ 4` Head: 3780gph
  • Max Head: 18ft
  • Amps/Watts: 2.0A/325W
  • Motor Speed: 1/4hp
  • Inlet/Outlet: 1.5in / 1.5in

5-6 times what? What size tank do you have?
