What are my knifefish doing?

I would normally think they are fighting, but it looks weird like they playing
 
Depends on age... Youngens will school but adults should have 75gal per fish. They get agressive to their own.
 
They get aggressive if keep 2 or three. I have 7 all at 10-12" fully grown adults and they fallow each other wherever the dominant fish. Been keeping many different species of featherbacks and it seems that only african species prefer to be in groups if keep in large numbers. I har a group marble knifefish and they do the same too. However they will gang up on new introduce featherback regardless of the species.
