What are some aggressive med-sized cichlids?

What are some aggressive cichlids that wont grow past the 6-7" mark? Can anyone think of any? I like my fish to be mean glassbangers/finger chasers, those are always fun, and nice fishtank conversation.

jewel cichlids will attack any other FISH, but probably not you, if they're anything like mine.

how about hemichromis elongatus? psycho fish that get about 7" or so

Yea I would agree with salvini's. Maybe a GT but they get a little bigger then 7".

How big a tank are we considering here? I tried a pair of sals in a 55 and ended up with a massacre. They were good looking fish while they lasted though.

Convicts would be a good choice, cheap and easy to find. I have actually heard that convict/Texas hybrids are very aggresive but I don't know how easy it would be for you to find one. They seem to get a bit larger then pure convicts, around 8".

Salvinis are a good choice. Although not much of a glass banger but they defanitely nip you when feeding. Mine has biten me a few times.
