What are some lifelong fish for a 30g or 55g?

Next year I will be moving into an apartment and plan on taking my 30 gallon and was wondering what fish I could have that would be comfortable in a 30 gallon, I may take my 55 so specify which would work ina 55 as well, they dont need to be predators, just cool fish

try tracking down some corydoras or scleromystax barbatus. theyre cool fish.

I heard dempseys get pretty large, I'd like to have a few fish in the tank (like 3-5), not just one ya know. how big do convicts get?
