Ok, what are the species of flagtail Prochilidus? I have seen one in my LFS called Semiprochilodus taeniurus. Is this the Fei Feng? It does not have the very high dorsal fin. I have seen some pics on this site of some with very high dorsals and vivid fin color. What is the scientific name of these. Thanks.

I'd also like to know where the crazy name "Fei Feng" came from... I grew up "knowing these" as Flagtail Pro's.

Someone on another forum posted this:

FF is under the Order: Characiformes; Family: Prochilodontidae
There are 6 types:
semaprochilodus brama (28cm)
semaprochilodus insignis (27cm)
semaprochilodus kneri (28cm)
semaprochilodus laticeps (44cm)
semaprochilodus taeniurus (24cm)
semaprochilodus varii (28cm)
Also some stated a subspecies and called it "High Dorsal Fin".
The more mentioned types among the 6, are insignis and taeniurus.

What is the species with the high dorsal fin?
