What are the most Intelligent CA and SA Cichlids?

I'd say oscars, because I use hand gestures to communicate with my oscars,
But I do not have Dovii's, Umbee or Chocolates. lol
 
lol you guys giving your fish IQ tests? how do you know if they're intelligent?
 
Yes that hard to say ,what makes the work but I will say my Flowerhorn will follow my finger around the glass and comes right up to my hand in the water.Crazy or smart who knows.
 
My Flowerhorn recognizes me compared to anyone else. I think that's kinda smart. But, I'm sure he's just learned that I am the only one who feeds him.
 
Owner recognition seems to be one aspect that I would say merits using the term "intelligent " of a fish. I had an oscar that would not eat food given to it by someone watching our house while on vacation until she left the room and peeked around the corner and saw it chowing down. It never did that with me it always did the happy dance, its time to eat when it saw me. I now have a Midas that could care less who feeds it, it takes food from anyone. Does that make the Midas less intelligent than the oscar? Or more?
