I have been doing a fishless cycle in a 20g tank I setup for my fry. The cycle is now done and I noticed these small white bugs crawling/swimming around all over my tank! I did some research but couldn't find a positive answer. I dont think they're planaria, but could they be copepods? See attached pictures. They are small round-ish white/clear looking bugs, mainly on the java moss but also elsewhere, most of the time crawling but do float/swim sometimes.
Tank has playsand, two small pieces of Malaysian driftwood, small hunk of Java moss, as seen in pictures, and a couple fake plants. Also did have a lot of 'seeding' material for the cycle (gravel and filter media from my other tank) The tank hasn't seen a fish yet, but is ready and needed by my fry.
So... what are these things? Are they good or bad? Will my fish eat them (will be cichlid fry and baby pakistani loaches and plecos) or do I need to get rid of them first? Thanks!
