I noticed since aquiring my new retic, there are a lot of white deposits/poo i think, in the tank.
I researched the threads re: white faeces for rays, and most stated if it was white and stringy, then possibly parasites.

The deposits are small tiny balls, bout 1mm dia. They are hard, like a grain of sand.....

the rays crap is not stringy or gooey, so not too worried. Appetitie is fine.

she eats a lot of prawn and muscle, so could it be calcium deposits from the shellfish?

prob sand from its digestive track.... ive had new rays pass sand in my tanks... i wouldnt worry about it

Where did you aquire your rectic from? I know some of the guys have mentioned that when they first get there new rays and they have come from a tank with sand that the rays some times have ingested some sand from the previous tank and is then passed thru the rays system into thier tank.

thanks for feedback. ;)

got the ray from an importer in uk. and yes, it was kept in tank with sand

if you are feeding mussels, it can come from them too. mussels can have sand inside them.

Ebay microscope probably < $50 for a reasonable one,
buy one and find out for sure for yourself wtf you got there.
Everything else is just a guessing game
