what are these hole things?

on my oscars face these little symetrical holes developed on each side under the eyes and near the back of the head I know their called sensory somthings but I can't remember the name :irked:
I just am kinda of interested in what these are there for and was hopeing someone could tell me what they do

Sensory pits. All oscars have them. I am not sure what their specific uses are though.

that's what i have called them aswell, i never knew if that was the correct scientific name though.

Nope, they definetly do. if you have any mature adults (10"+) take a look behind there eye's. they have very small holes, and they are noticable.

These holes cannot be mistaken for HITH.

They are called "anatomical sensory pits". And, yes...all oscars have them and they are quite noticable on most. The pits usually look like pin holes in a perfect circle.

actually the tiny symmetrical pits are pretty noticeaable
