Im setting up my 125 and was wondering what background was best to show the colors of my fish. I have always used the plant scenes but was wondering if solid black or blue would look better. Also if you paint the background a solid color does it look better than the plastic and what kind of paint do you use.

I used black latex paint on the back of my 75 and i used to have a plastic plant background but i think the solid black looks much better

deffinatley.
if you have lighter color fish, go with a darker background, and vice versa

black goes good for pretty much any fish set up.
when i move my 120 i'll probably put some black latex paint on the back of my tank.
perfect for lighting.

Black is good. I have limo tint as my background along with black sand. It's a bit too dark. Most of the fish I have now blends into the darkness. So if you go with black, I'd suggest a light color substrate.
